The vortex flow meter is a new type of gas flow meter that adopts advanced microprocessor technology and has the advantages of powerful functions, wide flow range, simple operation and maintenance, and convenient installation and use. Its main technical indicators have reached the advanced level of similar foreign products.
Due to the unique characteristics of vortex flow meters, they must continuously adapt to the development of mechanical manufacturing levels during their development. Therefore, vortex flow meters are divided into “intelligent vortex flow meters” and “steam vortex flow meters” according to the different objects they measure.
The intelligent vortex gas flow meter adopts advanced microprocessor technology and has the advantages of powerful functions, wide flow range, simple operation and maintenance, and convenient installation and use. Its main technical indicators have reached the advanced level of similar foreign products.
It can be widely used for the measurement of various gases in industries such as petroleum, chemical, power, metallurgy, and coal.
The steam-type vortex flow meter adopts advanced dual-probe vortex flow sensor technology, which has strong anti-interference ability, high accuracy, no mechanical rotating parts, is not easy to corrode, has a compact structure, high reliability, good stability, and low maintenance.
Intelligent vortex flow meters can measure various gases, while steam-type vortex flow meters can only measure steam.

Working principle

The flow profile of the flow sensor resembles that of a Venturi tube (as shown in Figure 1). A set of helical guide vanes is placed on the inlet side. When fluid enters the flow sensor, the guide vanes force the fluid to generate a violent vortex flow. When the fluid enters the diffuser section, the vortex flow is affected by the backflow and begins to rotate a second time, forming a gyroscopic vortex precession phenomenon. This precession frequency is proportional to the flow rate and is not affected by the fluid’s physical properties and density. By measuring the precession frequency of the fluid’s second rotation, the detection element can obtain good linearity over a wide flow range. The signal is amplified, filtered, and shaped by a preamplifier into a pulse signal proportional to the flow velocity. This pulse signal, along with temperature and pressure detection signals, is then sent to a microprocessor for integration processing. The measurement results (instantaneous flow rate, cumulative flow rate, and temperature and pressure data) are displayed on an LCD screen.
