A gas turbine flow meter places a turbine within the fluid being measured. When gas flows through the flow meter, it is rectified and accelerated by a specially structured rectifier. The impeller rotates due to the force exerted by the gas, causing periodic changes in the magnetic reluctance of the magnetic circuit caused by the impeller blades. Within a certain flow range, the angular velocity of the impeller is proportional to the flow rate. A pulse signal proportional to the fluid volumetric flow rate is induced using the principle of electromagnetic induction. This signal is amplified and shaped by a preamplifier, then integrated by a microcontroller and displayed on an LCD screen. Signals detected by temperature and pressure sensors are also input to the integrator for processing, yielding the standard flow rate, which is then displayed on the LCD screen.
